This morning, visit the world-renowned Butchart Gardens for a unique breakfast in the gardens. Established in 1904 by Jennie Butchart and maintained by successive generations of the Butchart family since, take your time exploring and learning about the displays. The garden has established an international reputation for its year round display of flowering plants. In the afternoon, you have your choice of touring activity in Victoria. There’s an opportunity to watch whales breaching and interacting off Vancouver Island; you can take a seaplane flight to get a birds-eye view of the island and coastline; perhaps stay on solid ground and take a guided tour of the wonderful houses and gardens around the town; or take an historic guided walking tour of the town. Other options include a horse-drawn carriage ride around the streets of Victoria or a delicious traditional afternoon tea at The Fairmont Empress Hotel.

Alternatively, journey by ferry across the Georgia Strait to the mainland. Join your coach and travel to the alpine resort of Whistler. Today, journey along the Icefields Parkway. One of the world’s great scenic drives, the route follows a chain of massive icefields straddling the Continental Divide. Stopping at the giant Columbia Icefield, take a ride in a specially-designed Ice Explorer onto the Athabasca Glacier. Enjoy the opportunity to stand on the glacial ice that fell as snow some 400 years ago. Later, arrive at Lake Louise, known as the Jewel of the Rockies. This beautiful aqua lake is set against the backdrop of Victoria Glacier.

This afternoon your cruise ship arrives in Juneau, Alaska’s pretty capital. Today you’ll check in to the port of Skagway, at the northernmost point of the Inside Passage. Skagway’s history as a frontier town and gateway for the gold rush is still evident - you may wish to take the opportunity this afternoon to ride the antique White Pass and Yukon narrow-gauge railway to get an insight into what life was like back then. Perhaps head to the nostalgic Trail of ‘98 Museum and the Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park (own expense).

This morning you wake up to the breathtaking sight of Glacier Bay National Park with its rivers of ice and sky-scraping peaks. As you cruise through the national park, it is easy to see why the area has received World Heritage status. You will also benefit from the insightful commentary of local rangers aboard your ship, who will explain the geological wonders you’ll witness and point out some of the diverse wildlife and marine mammals. With more actively-calving tidewater glaciers than any other place in the world, Glacier Bay is truly an enthralling sight.

Founded as a fishing camp along the shores of Tongass Narrows, Ketchikan is built on steep hillsides and offers a range of attractions to discover, including Creek Street, the Tongass Historical Museum, Totem Bight State Park and Saxman Village. Ketchikan’s large collection of totem poles, portray colourful, intricate tales, often showing a family’s history or depicting a local legend. The city is also billed as the salmon capital of the world.
